Keith Young

Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ECOTEK Lab

Keith Young, a graduate of Central Michigan University and the Harvard Business School’s Leadership Best Practices Program, is the Founder and Chief Executive Officer of ECOTEK Lab, the only independent lab for young innovators and inventors in the U.S.

Mr. Young also has over 17 years of experience working with Fortune 100 and Fortune 500 companies to develop and launch emerging market technologies and products.

ECOTEK Lab is a K-12 research program for young inventors and innovators. It specializes in exposing student scientists to hands-on science research with member countries at the United Nations, national laboratories, innovation hubs and universities that result in the formation of STEM startup companies.

ECOTEK is headquartered in Detroit, Michigan with a satellite office in Baltimore Maryland and Orlando, Florida. Student projects are done in partnership with the United Nations and a host of industry organizations. The research done by the student scientists are in the following areas: virtual reality systems, autonomous vehicle cybersecurity, web commerce, e-health applications, biotechnology, bioenergy, low orbit space exploration, environmental science and material science.

Student scientists are responsible for the project planning, resourcing, execution, risk management, and completion. Parents are heavily involved in the program (e.g. volunteer, travel, fund raising, and helping out with project work).
